It’s a travel trailer that is lightweight but doesn’t compromise luxury. It has some outstanding features including LED lighting, and their residential Master Suite to name a few. Grand Design sells towable travel trailers, fifth-wheels, and toy haulers. It doesn’t sell motorized RVs like Class A, Class B, or Class C RVs.
A toy hauler
It wouldn’t matter to me for how I use this rig but it might to you. Another area where this unit absolutely excels is for those who want to use it for boondocking. There are tremendous holding tanks with 90 gallons of fresh water capacity and 74 of gray and all that gray water is in a single tank - no fancy tricks with two tanks.

The designers at Grand Design (would they be Grand Designers?) intended this towable RV to be a toy hauler and it absolutely is that. In fact, as far as toy haulers go, this one is surprisingly capable given the size. There is enough space for exactly the kind of vehicles some people want to bring along.

The kitchen offers residential counter tops and a stainless-steel microwave and three burner range with oven. The comfortable master suite features a queen bed and oversized under-bed storage. There is also a residential bedspread with matching headboard. And all your food and kitchen tools have a place to stay in the oversized pantry. The Solitude offers more room in every way, bigger cabinets, taller ceilings, a larger slideout and larger windows.

There are a number of things I saw in this model that appear to be upgrades from previous generations of this trailer. In fact, the things I saw on my friend’s fifth wheel really made me happy. I really like this as much for the opportunities to be a mobile office or base station for adventure as anything. There’s that big outside patio that has a gate around it making it also good for camping with pets or young children. There is a pull-down screen between the inside and outside to keep the flying annoyers outside. There is a bed-side space with both household and USB outlets but only on one side of the bed.
Pray your unit is defect free because there is no warranty support.
On the slide-out rooms, The Grand Design Imagine also has a laminated aluminum framed roof and walls. Grand Design’s Imagine XLS is the company’s lightest travel trailer. Starting at just over 4,500 pounds, drivers can safely tow the Imagine XLS travel trailer with most SUVs and medium-duty trucks. With the variety of models and floorplans Grand Design has to offer, you’re likely to find exactly what you’re looking for. You also have the ability to customize your RV on the company’s website and request a quote.
Momentum Fifth Wheel Toy Hauler:
One of the things I noticed that I thought was odd in this trailer is the mirror mounted on the wall of the pantry, essentially facing the seat in the dinette that faces rearward. I would imagine this would be a great addition if you’re on a diet and you see yourself eating whatever that is that you’re not supposed to eat. I also really like that Grand Design hasn’t gone to the stable steps that are so popular. Please note not all floor plan look like the ones in the photos below.
When I handled warranties I replaced a lot of glass shower doors and I just don’t like them. This trailer features the nautilus-style shower door. I’m a big fan of using Azdel over Luan as a substrate but this trailer does not use that product. I’m sure plenty of people have plenty of good experience with Luan but I’m not one of those people and I feel Azdel is a better product, being a man-made water proof material.
However I really, really wish all RV companies would do a better job of educating people on the realities of towing these trailers. I think calling this a half ton towable fifth wheel is a disservice to people. The bathroom is a good size with a nice walk-in shower whose floor is not raised above the rest of the bathroom unlike in many RVs. No worries, mate, there is a lip there so you don’t flood the RV but it’s nice not to have to step down when getting out of the shower. This also now comes with a tankless water heater system. I really like these as you’re not heating water until you actually need to.
Please consult with your dealer for current product information and specifications. Website images may display optional equipment and photographic props. Racetrack ducting is also used in the construction for efficient cooling. It allows uninterrupted airflow from the back to the front of the RV – this is available in the Reflection, Momentum and Solitude models. They also have ductless flooring, which helps prevent the trapping of dirt, dust and debris.
Below are samples of both positive and negative reviews for the RV manufacturer on the site. These warranties may seem paltry compared to those you might find on a new car. However, these warranties actually exceed many of those offered by Grand Design’s competitors.
